Linked-In presence and other social networks presence
Since the group Pirate Party Belgium is out of use and out of the attention I created two new ones : these will function as extensions of the FB-pages and the websites.
So has anyone on this platform still has access to the old page to or close it or to cross-link it?
Secondly:
Can I ask you to all join LinkedIn ? I understand your privacy-issues but in professionalising and marketing The Pirate Parties presence is a key-issue to broaden their and our scope and to grow. It's a tactic to be present on all fronts in the build-up to the elections.
We are planning an extensive mediacampaign and these will be (some of) the mediums to spread our promotion.
Other social networks are ofcourse also welcome and it's a way to promote Mastodon as well, since especially the dutch speaking part has been a bit absent. (Please link groups here)
So please be welcome here:
https://www.linkedin.com/company/theparty/
and here:

If you'd like an admin or editor functionality, just ask.

Like all media channels created, it is on an opt-in basis. And people (certainly pirates) are free to join or not.
I think Privacy is not abused if people opt-in knowingly. So that wouldn't be a violation of the values we uphold.
(As for actual action for more privacy: I'm working on it. GDPR is a wonderful law we can fully use to give people their online privacy back)
As for decisions on PPBe level : make sure everyone can vote on it, or at least on Loomio.
On Flemish or Province or crew level: make sure the people involved have their say if it is something that might be problematic.
But in any case: if you have support from 2 other pirates: do whatever you want that doesn't harm the pirate party or violates Belgian laws.

It's "Pirate Party of Belgium", so you include my in your decision to be present on LinkedIn and I didn't have any possibility to discuss it. It's easy to have your 3-pirates rule, if you do it secretly...
I don't think you'd appreciate if 3 pirates decided to publish stuff signed "Piratenpartij Antwerpen" without giving you the possibility to intervene. I don't think you'd appreciate either if 3 pirates decided, without consulting you, that PPBe would NOT use any of the GAFAM for the elections.
For LinkedIn, there is indeed a GDPR that is supposed to protect the users, but what if this GDPR is not respected? In LinkedIn's case, it's impossible to join the network without giving up your privacy, that's the foundation of the lawsuit by La Quadrature du Net. Therefore, I believe using LinkedIn, in 2018, is harming the image and the values of PPBe.

I'm not sure what you're talking about : a Faceboook group? A Facebook page? Which one(s)?
Can I ask you to all join PornHub?
...but it's already a pain in the ass for many of us to have so much dependency on Facebook, why INVEST more of our energy to a platform that belongs to Microsoft?
We already decided to work separately for the elections to avoid such issues (one group wanting more visibility despite the privacy-issues, another group wanting to protect our values (what's the point of having values if we ignore them when we have a reasonable possibility to protect them?)
You are. The only current electoral project in Wallonia is not going that way.
Too much promotion, not enough reality... Same as your proposal to organize a GA "for the media", it's more important for you to appear than to be?
I completely disagree in opening a LinkedIn account for Pirate Party of Belgium.
No, it's not, you're investing your energy (and want us to invest ours) in LinkedIn. And again, promoting vs. using...
Mastodon doesn't have the funcionality to have groups...
I'd appreciate if this PPBe account was deleted before people see it.
