IndieGoGo partnership

DU riderplus Public Seen by 99

I wrote an email to IndieGoGo yesterday regarding the possibility of promoting diaspora* on their campaign pages. The idea was that they could place a share widget on their campaign pages similar to those that twitter and facebook have. Here's the reply that I got today in my Inbox:

Hi Camil,

Thank you for your interest in Indiegogo and for your kind words!

If you have an innovative partnership opportunity that falls outside of our Partner Page offering, please notify us through our Partner Inquiry Form, here: http://form.jotform.us/form/32277575285161, our business development team will follow-up with any questions they may have.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about how crowdfunding works, how to create a campaign on Indiegogo, or if you're looking for tips on how to make an upcoming campaign a success, please feel free to contact our Customer Happiness team at [email protected].

Thank you for your patience.

Cheers,

Lauren

You can do whatever you want to do.

However, please note that our official financial and legal assets are managed by the Free Software Support Network. If you have contact with third parties, make sure it's clear to everyone that you are not a projects official. If you raise money, please ensure it's clear that this is your private initiative to support the project and that is is not delegated or approved by the official team.

Just want to avoid weird issues with tax payments and other fun here. ;)

Thanks a lot for clarifying that to us, Dennis! We'll try to convince them to put the widget on their campaigns page for free ;) And nobody will ask for money from them, of course.

That was more like a general statement, just wrote it here since you pinged me. Thanks! :)

UPDATE:
I contacted again IndieGoGo, here's what they replied:

Hi Camil,
Thanks for following up. I see you have been working with my colleague Lauren, I hope you don't mind if I answer your request.
Besides the sharing tools already in place within the Indiegogo platform, we are unable to add custom share tools on a per-request basis.
That said, it sounds like you are interested in using a widget to share your campaign on a website or blog. You can add a widget using our share-tools---can you please send me a link to your campaign and i'd be happy to point you in the right direction.
Thank you again for your understanding and I look forward to hearing back from you soon!
Cheers,
Josh
