IndieGoGo partnership
I wrote an email to IndieGoGo yesterday regarding the possibility of promoting diaspora* on their campaign pages. The idea was that they could place a share widget on their campaign pages similar to those that twitter and facebook have. Here's the reply that I got today in my Inbox:

I'm a diaspora* (diaspora social network https://diasporafoundation.org/) enthusiastic user and would like to ask you something: would it be possible that you help us in adding a diaspora* sharing widget (as you do have for facebook and twitter, for instance) for the campaigns that you promote? It would help us very much, and it would benefit you, too! Thank you!
The reply that they sent to me indicates that they interpret it as a partnership. Please advise as to what I should reply to them or come up with good ideas! Thanks!

Funny, neither Twitter nor Facebook is on their partnership page (and therefore don't appear to be partners).

Her mentioning their "Partner program" looks like a polite way of brushing off your request, instead of just saying NO.
Be a bit more persistent, you have nothing to lose. Reply to her, thank her, and tell her that you are not referring to a partnership, but instead are asking about the sharing widget, perhaps providing a screenshot. You might want to mention that Twitter and Facebook don't appear to have official partnerships with them.
Additionally, write to the "Partner inquiry form" she linked to and ask the same there. Perhaps there's someone else who would be more willing to entertain the idea.

@jcbrand Many many thanks for your input! Maybe we can think together of how to write an email coming from the community and sending it from more than one account - in the name of diaspora* social network? Or maybe someone with more authority than me can do that. If nobody wants to do it, I will volunteer, but I'll wait for @deadsuperhero and others to reply.

I'd assume it means that Facebook, Twitter etc. pay Indiegogo to have their sharing buttons appear on the site.

@goob That's a good observation, actually. I don't know. On the other hand, @jcbrand says

This is crazy (or a misunderstanding), I'm sure Facebook and Twitter never pay to the sharing buttons... In the French community we have a text to ask for the sharing buttons, but we sign it as a "user".

@riderplus This is a very good translation by French users from a German user ... ;-) The thing actually worked and interested some media. But we have to go on and repeat the action...
So I did a G**gle Translate and change it a little bit to make it more general and comprehensive. But you'll probably have to adapt the text to make it better

Super @mflo ! We'll polish it a bit and then use it as a template? Can you also post the text on Diaspora Forum? We can use it for further similar cases!
What we need to do is think about an email contact on IndieGoGo that we can send the text to! We can't just send it to the above support email address, you saw how they replied to me. We have to think about it and I encourage @flaburgan @supertux88 @deadsuperhero @dennisschubert @goob @praveenarimbrathod and others to express their opinion here!

I don't get why you present this as a partnership. Social media are a way to spread the word. They already use some, it would be nice if they use ours too, but I don't see how that is a partner relationship. We have a widget they can use, and that's it.
