Commons Growers

A UK based group focused on growing plants for food, herbs, wood and other plant products.

The co-op is managed as a commons by members who make decisions using internet based tools. The co-op aims to manage the land sustainably, growing food (particularly stuff that stores well) and wood for its members.

Commons Growers is involved in experimentation and research into growing methods, soil management, group decision making, and methods for food production and distribution to members. Also shares results of experiments, offers education and runs a few camps. Work is organised seasonally with accommodation brought onto the land during working seasons - in line with planning regulations.

The group aims to operate on a few sites to benefit from links in different areas, to get a range of products and have different sites for workers to spend different seasons.

The group has open membership.
