2023 Census Stakeholder Consultation

Tēnā koe
We are now well into our planning for the next census, many thanks for taking the time to be part of the next census development process and staying with us on the census journey.

Through Budget 2020, the Government has funded Stats NZ to take the next census in 2023.

Early and meaningful engagement is a critical activity to achieving the highest collection response rates possible for 2023 Census and it is important that we have a shared understanding of the things that need to be right - to help Stats NZ do that, we will continue to seek feedback on census design and implementation as we move forward into the low level design phase.

The new thread below "Results of the Detailed Business Case and Budget Bid" provides key messages from the announcement made on the 21 May 2020 and an opportunity to be part of the on-going census design conversation including the "when would you like to be involved" and "What would you like to be consulted on" polls, these tell us when and on what you wish to be involved in.

If you are new to Stats NZ Loomio or wanting to refresh your knowledge of the Detailed Business Case process and foundational information you can do so via the thread below. The video also gives a great overview of the census topics that were consulted on over the last year to inform the Detailed Business Case.

It is intended that Loomio will continue to provide timely 2023 Census programme updates, information, question and input opportunity.
