Dutch Caribbean Maritime Heritage Workgroup - Theme 2: Knowledge Exchange and Cooperation

For this theme, the following general needs and wishes were identified on 29 January:
A. Improving cooperation among island professionals by establishing an online platform, including:
A projects and documents database
Access to a universal GIS-system
A stakeholder list of key players and supporting individuals
An overview of available equipment and facilities among the islands
B. Cooperation with organisations in the Netherlands (e.g. for access to online academic literature through universities and scientific databases)
C. Closer cooperation between heritage professionals and dive shops
Proposed objectives:
Exploring current existing options for an online platform
Exploring the possibility to make DANS available to the Dutch Caribbean islands. A reconnaissance has already been done, please see the thread to read more about this.
Providing access to MACHU and Maritime Stepping Stones (MaSS) for the Caribbean islands; please refer to the dedicated respective threads on MaSS and MACHU to learn more and opt in.
Exploring options for a social media platform
Exploring the possibility of providing professionals in the Dutch Caribbean access to academic research databases
Assessing to what extent the Netherlands National Research Agenda for Archaeology (NoaA) can be used for the Caribbean region. If needed, proposals will be made to improve the agenda. At the moment the highest priority seems to be to create a good overview of the underwater cultural heritage in the waters of the Dutch islands in the Caribbean.
