Who do we have as admin?

HM Hannah Mackintosh Public Seen by 39

This is a discussion around how open we want to be with this forum. These decisions can change and evolve over time.

Currently, Paul and I are admin which means that only we can invite people to join the group. This is how we have set it up initially just while people are getting their heads around what loomio is.

I quite like the idea of full transparency. Perhaps we could have a system where people become admin once they are fully engaged with and using the tool?

I think that being admin should come with the responsibility for introducing people that you bring onto the loomio team in a thorough way so that they know how to engage with the tool.

Do we want an open group that anyone can invite people or do we want certain people as admin who can have a final say over who is invited to join the group?

At least one person from each TB in Aotearoa is made admin of this Loomio group Closed Tue 28 Aug 2012 11:56PM

I propose that at least one person from each TB Loom.io is invited to be an admin of this Loom.io group. This will facilitate bringing a more representative sample of people into the discussion as quickly as possible, while giving users new to Loomio someone local who can mentor them in the use of the tool.

The purpose of all this is to ensure, as much as possible that this Loomio group is seen as an accessible, unifying tool for the TB movement in Aotearoa, and not as some kind of exclusive elite.

I want to hear more from the group before making a decision.

I think it is important that this group represents every timebank. However we do need a thorough process for inducting people into loomio.

I'm biased so I want the rest of the group to reach consensus on this one.

Agree all tbs should have representation and admin access, when available and with support.

Agree that each timebank should have representation with admin access here on loom.io. I also think it's great to offer some kind of training or support if desired, but that shouldn't be a requirement (I trust that people will learn as they go).

I think it is important this group represents as many NZ timebanks as possible. However we do need a thorough process for inducting people into loomio and they should be members only until the group agrees we are ready for all to be admins.

We invite each timebank to nominate one person from each timebank to become part of this loomio group.
