IPnz Youth Policy 2017
I would like to crowd source a Youth policy.
I feel that our kids are being horribly deserted. Its time we think of them and create a framework so all kids can succeed and be the best they can be. List your ideas, past decisions here.
I would like to see more funding allocated by the state for sports/arts/after school programs like touth town. I would also argue that civics is re-introduced to in high school. We also need budgeting in schools. There should also be a focus on harm reduction in terms of addiction and mental health. I would also like to see the voting age lowered to 16.

I would also argue that civics is re-introduced to in high school.
It's already there. It may be that it needs a better curriculum specifically addressing and encouraging participation in our political system.
We also need budgeting in schools.
Schools already have a budget so what do you mean by this?

Often these are driven by poverty so although such programs in schools help what's really needed is to reduce the poverty of the parents.

To achieve what?..... . To strengthen and build a sense of community and a purpose for our kids... We have lost this... And i think our kids need this...we should help our kids connect and build relationships and skills so they can be positive engineers of the future...

Schools should be proactively teaching budgeting to students and helping them be money smart

I 100% agree but we should also looking at providing positive support for those kids eho are impacted by these things... I dint see thst there us that support.. There needs to be frameworks that identify and engage in harm minimisation and prevention along with robust and effective strategies to improve the effectiveness of their care.
