Keynote: From Source to Society

Conway’s Law states that "organizations which design systems ... are constrained to produce designs which are copies of the communication structures of these organizations.” If we want to build systems that are open and collaborative, then we need to use communication systems that are open and collaborative. We can be intentional about designing open and collaborative systems by copying open source principles when we work.

Chris Kelly is a developer, open source advocate, and community organizer. At GitHub, his team connects, celebrates, and amplifies the amazing open source community on GitHub. He is a co-founder of TODO, a group of companies pragmatically approaching open source problems. His things live in San Francisco, while he spends much of his time on an airplane.
