Next General Assembly soon (preferably december)

CC Christophe Cop Public Seen by 39

Dear Pirates, the next elections are coming, and we do need to prepare.
We hope to gather with pirates from all the provinces.
Please add things you wish to see on the agenda.

From a media and legal standpoint I think it's important to have the GA anyway.
* To be present in the news with our idea's, it's crucial to communicate them on multiple media and an event like this creates cohesion, renewed interest and ideas and exposure. The GA can adapt to the renewed pragmatism by streamlining the process and offer a day of exchanging methods and practices.
* We could adapt an application for voting by that time, not to loose time and to maximalize participation.

Useless as everything has been clarified at the last lab.

Are there issues that require a GA? The two current agendapoints aren't an issue anymore [1]. The point of calling out to communal parties to vote op PPBE isn't something you can do from a GA.

AFAIK GAs are mainly used for voting on decissions, but the past has shown that that's not the best way. I don't know of any decissions that need to be taken ATM that can't be taken in another way.

Another nice thing about a GA is that it can bring pirates together, but we already had something in Brussels a while ago and not many people showed up. Honestly, a piratelab can do the same thing.

We need more friction, so we can vote on something. I suggest we give our money on Facebook advertising now, so we can get more people that bring more money. It is only by actively pursueing our ideals that we will constructively disagree.

Is it not the case that we legally agreed to organize an annual GA? On the one hand to give an overview to all pirates of the state of affairs and initiatives for the future? Or have we entered a phase of dissolution?

There was a GA this year in May.

There is no legal obligation for Pirate Party of Belgium to have an annual GA at all, because we're a feitelijke vereniging/association de fait (not to be confused with the vzw/asbl Mermaid).

For the overview to all pirates, we already use this Loomio group, the monthly Labs, Matrix chatroom, and the crews that want to collaborate do so by publishing their meeting reports.

I am talking about GA 2019. This is important as support in the upcoming elections. Such an organization requires time in any case to prepare.
