Preliminary bylaws approval process

NS Nathan Schneider Public Seen by 536

This is a thread for finalizing the initial bylaws for Social.coop.

I went ahead and put them on a dedicated page: https://social.coop/bylaws and also updated the homepage and 'more about' page with links to it. Maybe would be a good idea to update the homepage copy with some of the phrasings from the bylaws.

@mayel Thank you for clarifying and posting the bylaws!

Voila @ntnsndr : https://social.coop/terms
This is the standard Mastodon 'terms of service' page, if we want to use this URL for the code of conduct once we have it, we can move the bylaws to a similar static page.

@mayel is it easy to replace the "mastodon" logo above the bylaws (and other static pages) with our logo and the name "social.coop"? Otherwise it seems like these are bylaws for mastodon itself.

I'm currently working on a few versions of the "three pines" logo, I'll share them as soon as I'm back from my "away from civilization" weekend :)

good point! I'll wait for the logo from @michelekipiel and do that.

Michele, I will need one that includes social.coop as white text to replace https://social.coop/packs/logo_full-9782239008b0105fd451ff43db5f716e.svg

Hello,

here's a link to a series of variations on the "three pines" logo, with varying degrees of abstraction: https://www.dropbox.com/s/u8e1mif3a84oe5e/logo.svg?dl=0

Feel free to send feedback and propose ideas :)

I was going to contribute a sketch of my own logo idea but it's basically just the first one of yours!

I like the bottom right a lot!

I played with it a bit, putting it on a dark background, and also based on this symbolism thought two pines might be better: http://www.co-soap.com/cooperation

what do you think?

@michelekipiel @mayel if this conversation continues, let's start a separate thread.

I would go for either two pines (to make clear the co-op connection) or three pines (to combine the co-op movement with the mastodon logo).

I love these! Great work!

Should we do a "dot vote" on our favorite options?
