It has been suggested (I think the idea came from Léna) that Sol Samba organize a Back to Basics Workshop to improve the standard of drumming in the band and help newer members catch up.
I (Christopher Whalen) was commissioned by the committee at our last meeting on 27 March 2014 to test out this new collective decision-making tool to see if it makes it any easier to herd the kittens that are members of Sol Samba and to reach a decision about whether or not to run a Back to Basics Workshop.
The first question to resolve is:
a) Do we want to have a Back to Basics Workshop?
Other questions to consider are:
b) Who is going to organize it?
c) When should it be held e.g. 10:30-17:00 on a Sunday or for the first half of a normal Wednesday night rehearsal?
d) Who is going to lead the workshop: current leaders (Rob, Katherine, Chris H, Chris W) or Phil?
e) What should the workshop cover: trying new instruments; going over nagging problems; learning new techniques and grooves; performance skills?
f) Who will actually attend?
Let's tackle question a) first:

I spoke to @lenadurochergrange last night and she has kindly agreed to organize the workshop.
I'd like to propose that Léna organizes the workshop because she came up with the idea and is therefore the best person to create a workshop that will meet her needs.

The next thing to do is for @lenadurochergrange to set a date for the workshop. I recommend using a tool like Doodle (http://doodle.com/en/). I don't think Loomio has that sort of multiple-choice functionality.

A Sunday seems best as we'd have to rush the workshop on a Wednesday.
