Specific problems for french translation...
Problèmatique spécifique à la traduction française

E-mail ou courriel

Sur la traduction "main app", les deux termes étaient utilisés assez indifféremment.
J'ai tenté d'uniformiser en partant du constat suivant : le terme courriel est compris de tous même si moins fréquemment utilisé que mail (du moins en fr-FR) mais on ne parlera jamais de courriel pour une adresse mail mais uniquement pour les courriers.
J'ai donc systématisé (c'était déjà majoritairement le cas) :
* courriel lorsqu'il s'agit du courrier envoyé ou reçu,
* e-mail lorsqu'il concerne l'adresse e-mail.
Sinon très content de découvrir la communauté Loomio ;:))

Foi uma boa observação! Quanto mais padronizados os termos forem, mais fácil será a compreensão. ;)

Hi, we have been started to translate the Help manual in French! it's happening through a google doc. I was wondering if there's anyone interested in helping with this translation? If so, let me know and I'll give you access to the doc. :)

Hi everyone! We have a lot of French speaking people visiting our front page recently! but unfortunately that resource (called marketing on transifex) is only at 74% at the moment :(
So this is message is to ask you all if you could jump onto Transifex and give it a little push so French speakers can find out what we are all about!
Thanks a lot for all your help :)

Hi @natilombardo , I updated the translation for the "Post" button, as the french translation meant "Write a message", which in this context, is less adapted then just "Publier".
Can you get this translation up on Loomio.org ?
Thx : )

D

Dieudonné Sun 18 Dec 2016

@natilombardo : I saw you approved my precedent message, but the translation hasn't been updated in French, although it's two weeks ago now, and here :
* https://github.com/loomio/loomio/tree/master/docs/en/translation

it's written : “We deploy language updates at least once a week.”
Can you help me having a better understanding of the procedure ?

NL

Natalia Lombardo Sun 18 Dec 2016

did you do the translation on transifex?

D

Dieudonné Mon 19 Dec 2016

I think so !
See attached file.

Natalia Lombardo Mon 19 Dec 2016

Dieudonné Fri 6 Jan 2017

It is still "Ecrire un message" that is shown as a translation in french for the "Post" button.
Is there anything else I can do to help it become "Publier" instead ?

NL

Natalia Lombardo Thu 12 Jan 2017

Hi there, we had an issue with our translation update system, but it will hopefully be sorted shortly.

D

Dieudonné Fri 3 Feb 2017

@natilombardo , is the problem with the "translation update system" still active ?
Does it have to do with the fact Transifex is a proprietary platform ?
Have you thought of using an open-source one ?

Hello My Name is Chris.
I'm looking for experienced people using Loomio.
Before I read all materials about the way to use it and the benefits offered, I would like to have feedbacks about the best ways to stick users on the tool and to build active communities !

Is there a translation process initiated for this "new page loomio.school" ?

NL

Natalia Lombardo Tue 7 Feb 2017

Hi, we are not in the process of doing the translation for loomio.school yet, but once we are we will add it to transifex. Regarding the translation update, we already did it. Could you tell me if you still don't see it?

D

Dieudonné Tue 7 Feb 2017

Thanks for you answers : ) The translation update worked ; )

We where made to noticed that a line of the french translation in the resource 'buyer experience' is not understandable enough. On the pricing page, under Free plan where it sais "Soutien du projet de don pour les groupes de la communauté." Is meant to say that the Groups under this plan are supported by donation, meaning that occasionally we will ask the group members for a voluntary donation.

Is there anyone here that could have a look at how can that line be made more understandable?

Thanks a lot for all your help!

D

Dieudonné Thu 9 Feb 2017

I can't find it in transifex. Can you help ?

NL

Natalia Lombardo Thu 9 Feb 2017

Oops sorry about that, the line is actually in the resource 'Server' line number 153. And in the resource 'Main App' line number 447

Thanks!!!

D

Dieudonné Fri 10 Feb 2017

Thanks. I've written in transifex this translation :
* Donation supported plan for community groups.
* Option de soutien par les dons aux groupes de la communauté.

NL

Natalia Lombardo Sun 12 Feb 2017

thanks! My French is not good so it will be good to hear if there's anyone else in this group that thinks that this is clear enough?

Je trouve très intéressant les articles de Loomio School. La traduction de ça, c'est ici que ça peut être discuté ou bien il y a un endroit plus approprié? Merci!

Salut Xavier!
We are planning to make Loomio School translatable.

TLDR:it should be possible soon!

We've talked about it here, and the following issues are open:
* How should we translate these contents? and here
* Plan: merging user manual in Loomio school

A pull request is open and last time we talked with @robertguthrie, we decided to wait for a new input on this reorganization.

Once this is put in place, I guess we should add the Loomio School repo as a resource on Transifex (which supports MarkDown files) to make it easier to work together on translations and track updates from source.

Bonjour.

Hi, I don't speak French, but I do manage the translations for Loomio.

https://www.transifex.com/rdbartlett/loomio-1/language/fr/

Currently client is at 90% and server is about the same.

Where did you read that they were at 100%?

Hello,

Amicalement,
F
