Social Coop Wall -- 立て看

MN Matt Noyes Public Seen by 45

This thread is for off-topic posts. ("...a big notice board where people in your group can leave little messages.... Having a Wall thread encourages community interaction, and helps people who aren’t confident about posting new threads to take small steps and participate. And by specifically naming a space for off-topic content, you reduce the number of distracting or unnecessary threads posted to the group." - Loomio blog)

Because it is our Loomio group, the posts should probably be governance/admin related (otherwise, why not post on the Social.Coop timeline?).

At Japanese universities there was a tradition of "tatekan" billboards made by students to advertise events, promote struggles, make jokes, etc. (The last bastion is Kyoto University...).

Maybe we need an "Archives" subgroup to which we can move outdated posts? See this piece by Loomio: https://blog.loomio.org/2016/04/23/organise/

Great idea. Though a question. Will having this Wall on the main Social.Coop space mean anyone still subscribed would get inundated with email notifications for anything posted here? Unless they take the time to shut off notifications which may lead them to missing key announcements. Would this be better as a open subgroup with so members could Opt into for check in as they like?

Good question! Probably it should be a subgroup. Who currently
has permissions to create a subgroup and move threads/posts? I
wanted to create an Archive subgroup, but I don't seem to have the
permissions.
