Meeting with Ngati Haumia Sunday

AC angie cairncross Public Seen by 297

Hi everyone
Just getting back into things. I talked to both mark and Tina today about a few things. One being letting them know about the Mayoral group that is looking at affordable and social housing in the wider Kapiti area, led by David Scott. I will be attending these with a Community Housing Aotearoa hat on but also happy to feed things back and on for this group. They are in a very preliminary stage.

Also discussed with Tina was the Ngati Haumia meeting that she suggested I go to. Happy to do this if it fits in and I've prepared a list of people and places they can go to to discuss Maori Housing initiatives for their marae and hapu if they are thinking that way. If you still want me to go my contact number is 027 5357794 - I'm around Sunday.

Did Alexandra join this meeting? I am wondering if she has thoughts related to her Trust and Treaty appeal to get us to think about the important opportunities she mentioned, initial impressions from the meeting with Carl, opening this discourse up to all Maori - as certainly Ngati Haumia isn't the only displaced/disenfranchised group, and what other natural Maori collectives exist in our village that might want to speak to the Trust. Also @markamery I cant @her (without it notifying some other alexandra in russia!) on this so can't signal this post to her directly. Help?

Not sure re the @ Loomio issue - but I have some strong thoughts on this as part of a report back @kerrenhedlund but won't have time to respond until I get back next week. It's not about general Maori in this specific instance its about mana whenua and the history of this land. But more anon
