The study of Itinera and a reaction of Olivier Pintelon show that people think a basic income means everyone gets that amount extra with respect to our current situation while normally the richer will get their basic income taxed away by other taxes anyways. But that way, they conclude immediately a ubi is unpayable and not goal oriented. While it is applicable to anyone, when taxed, it focuses very well on those who don't have enough and it provides the means of freedom to the others to do whatever they want.
