With Cambridge Analytica in the limelight, I think we need to respond to it via articles, posters, videos etc It would be good to continue this responding to public mood or even initiating campaigns to bring awareness to the issues of privacy, freedom etc

An excellent interview of Richard Stallman http://nymag.com/selectall/2018/04/richard-stallman-rms-on-privacy-data-and-free-software.html Would you like RMS to say things only people like to hear? If you look back in history, change happened because a minority questioned the mainstream ideas of that time, be it about slavery or untouchability. Similarly using Facebook may be a mainstream idea, but that should not stop us from talking the truth, that its is dangerous for our privacy, freedoms and democracy.

Educate people is the only way.

For that we have to develop modules to full fill the importance of our vision & mission.

Also how we can achieve it through currently available tools & technology.

Because we don't have the power to make laws. The people in power has different priorities, often conflicting with ours. Aadhaar is a good example. They want surveillance and control. If you are interested in political route, some of us are part of http://pirates.org.in

slavery or untouchability etc. these issues are visible. nobody need to explain the issue to people. but with neoliberalism the rulers found that its even more easier to enslave people without people knowing it. here people cant see the chain. its hard to explain things. they have to learn it like a spark. for that we need strategies.
we must have to build an active community on these issues. not just for specific events. but a regular group focused on the core of the issues.

Visibility helps to an extend, but was that enough to get rid of it? Many people accepted and strongly supported it even though it was visible. People had consciously build a movement and it was still very difficult even though it was visible, because the consequences of revolt was very serious. And now, in a way, it is easier for us too, since the consequences of a revolt are not as serious. But yes, it is much harder to convince, I agree. In addition, we have a extra problem of people being disappointed and lazy even if they understand the problem. The goal of FSCI is to be that group. Change from FOSS Community India to Free Software Community of India signifies more focus on philosophy.
