Building a Planet with the Aggregator module is fairly easy, although the downside is that I can't find a reasonable way to add user avatars to the Planet. I've thought of a couple of different solutions.

One thing that I'd really like to see: a Planet that just grabs a user's RSS feed URL from a provided user field.

I've noticed that you've got the Feeds module enabled, does that allow for importing from a user field? If so, that would save a lot of time. ;)

if i remember correctly that's fine with allgregator. Allow auth user to create newsfeed. Should be checked by moderator before feed item nodes are created?!

@Sean & Jakob, concerning omega theme: how can I reset grid+block active setting on the site as user logged in and keep it off?

The settings for it should be under the theme settings. There are a ton of settings for the grid in there, including turning the visual grid on and off manually.

test site crashed on my tests, I copied the prod db back. So the test accounts are gone in case you wonder.
