4 years ago I founded e-NABLE.

Our biggest challenges are now in distributed decision-making coordination. I'm hoping we can address this by adopting tools and practices like Loomio.

Hi John, I am interested in this platform and its potentiality but I do understand there is likely some learning curve! Is there any update on Portland? I was wondering if this was alluding to an e-NABLE conf.?

Hi! I joined e-NABLE in early 2014 and have made over 50 e-NABLE devices, including hands for about a dozen recipients (the rest were produced for various e-NABLE events, workshops, etc.) My company, 3D Universe produces assembly materials kits for the most popular e-NABLE designs and offers them at a discount to e-NABLE volunteers. So far, over 5,700 of these kits have been distributed around the world! 3D Universe also developed (and continues to develop) the e-NABLE Web Central application (https://www.enablewebcentral.com).

In addition to making e-NABLE devices, I serve as chair of e-NABLE’s Strategic Planning Committee, I provide support within the e-NABLE Google+ community, and I help Jen Owen to administer the enablingthefuture.org website. I give regular talks and presentations about the e-NABLE community and host e-NABLE workshops at local schools and libraries. I also produce video tutorials (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsaNLYwo4AA5JSAKDFzeybgZ2W1k7IBwO) to help other e-NABLE volunteers.

Hi, I am Asad Jabbar, 2 years ago in Pakistan co-founded GRIT 3D with an aim to build products impacting human life.
I have been associated with e-Nable community and providing 3d printed hands to the disable community in Pakistan.

Hello, I'm a medical student in Brazil. I've been following the e-NABLE community for some years and now I'm a oficial volunteer. My goal is to pursue orthopedics to keep extending my knowledge of biomechanics and I'm particularly interested in the area of hand surgery. In the future I wish to be able to work increasingly with reabilitation centers and professionals.

Hello, I'm studying engineering at Warsaw University of Technology and I'm co-founder of Students' 3D Printing Association. I am e-NABLE community member since April and so is my collegue Dawid from the Association.

Our first e-NABLE related project is modified phoenix hand - with springs from hair claw clips. Second one is a device dedicated to kids that want to swim, but don't have a wrist. We haven't done any hand for child in need yet, but we have a few parents interested right now.

HI all, I am Chad Coarsey and have been involved in the local South Florida Area for over 2 years now. Just completed my masters thesis in bioengineering and am looking forward to getting more involved in this process!

Hi @chadcoarsey1. Portland happened in August. But there is a conference coming up in next month in Maryland. If you may be able to come, ask @mariaesquela for an update.

I'm from the UK; an automotive software engineer by trade. 12 months ago, I didn't really know what 3D printing was, but I heard a radio article about the work of TeamUnlimbited and I was inspired to join the e-Nable community, which has got me into the design/make world of 3D printing, and have made 2 Phoenix hands so far.

Jacob Boudreau Sat 16 Dec 2017

Hello folks!

I'm from Cape Breton island, Nova Scotia Canada and currently looking to start a E-Nable chapter here in Halifax, NS. I was extremely excited to get started after hearing about this initiative through a Tedtalk a few months back. So far I have raised over $700.00 towards purchasing equipment and materials so I can donate to E-Nable.

Check out my progress here: www.gofundme.com/3dprinthalifax

I have a strong background in logistics and international trade, and may be able to assist in getting prosthetics to people in hard to reach places all over the globe! I am excited to meet you all and look forward to assisting with this project in any way possible.

Hey everyone, I joined eNABLE a couple months ago, I've done a verification hand and delivered two devices to users. I have also started a chapter in Maryland, US. I have no special training in FDM or bioengineering, I'm just a hobbyist 3D printer, but I have been a member of the US Air Force for many years and I have strong management skills that I think I can apply to help individual chapter leaders.

Hello, We've made e-NABLE hands for a couple of people now and have been exploring the different designs. We are currently starting a chapter in Cebu, Philippines in parallel with building a 3D printing community that will be able to contribute to its success. We are working with another shop that is printing lower limb devices that we can also add to the mix. Our FB page is https://www.facebook.com/B3Dcebu/. My background is in industrial engineering/ manufacturing. I have led teams with excellent results in the past and am sure we can do much good here. Thanks for having me.

Hi, I'm Patrick. I am me, I love everybody. I show this through music, theatre, design and overall world-enriching vibes (I hope so!). I am always willing to give honest help, or feedback to anyone that means well, and does well. Whatever you need, I am here.

Hello all, I am a technology teacher and coordinator of technology at a Pre school to 8th grade school. This year I will be working with my 7 to graders on digital design and 3D printing. I plan on using eNABLE with my students to show the many possibilities 3D printing offers. Although our resources are limited, I am hopeful we will be able to create at least one hand.

Thanos Mitzifiris Fri 10 Aug 2018

Hello everyone, I am Thanos from Athens, Greece. We are a small group of friends (engineers and teachers), which decided to start the e-Nable Greece. We are very happy for this, because we really enjoy tech and helping those in need. For us is very important to interact with other members of this world community and take feedback about the e-Nable activities. Apart from our main priority (make hands for those they need them), we plan to disseminate our work with 3d printing and eNables hands in educational communities and orgs and make hands for children at refugee's camps (mainly coming from Syria civil war). Undoubtfly our journey will be difficult, but we really love this idea and we are happy to join this community.

Thanos Mitzifiris Sat 11 Aug 2018

Hi Patrick! Is the mini grant proposal still active? Because I have uploaded a thread (new decision/proposal) with our plan and grant proposal but I can't find it anywhere. There you can see our plan, needs and experience so far. Actually our prior needs are filaments and a couple of portable 3d printers-suitable for education purposes (we have 3 tevo tornado, one donated by e-Nanle France and two bought by our members). Thanks for welcoming me in this great group!!!
