How can the MNA help you host a block party?

BR Briar Rose Public Seen by 381

After last night's MNA meeting I started thinking more and more about ways the MNA could support members block parties! Maybe we could host a calendar of block parties? Or, perhaps we could have a set of pavilion canopies, card tables, karaoke machine, and such that could be loaned out?

Have you ever thought about hosting a block party and ran into a roadblock? What was the road block, and could the MNA possibly provide any resources in the future to help you make your block party a reality?

I love block parties and have a really silly sound system (2 x 500W 15" tops and a 1kW 18" subwoofer), watup?

Love this idea. I also think the how to guide for getting your street closed, what is and isnt allowed at block parties etc..

knowing the process is helpful- thx for the PBOT link. having loaner canopies/tables would be a nice resource for the neighborhood.

Oh I think we have that, buuuuut also all of that is available through the East Portland Neighborhood Office (Lore recently transitioned management to Cameron Whitten if you're familiar, nice person).

They hooked me up for the one I threw for a friend's birthday (we got rained out though). http://www.eastportland.org/
