Using [email protected] or name*pod.com for Diaspora

DU nio Public Seen by 120

I start this discussion becouse i think this must be discussed.
The question is basically use some specific name for diaspora which is it easy identify as diaspora name.
When you see [email protected] any user identify it as email. But is it not easy identify it as diaspora name, you must know the pod name and you must know this is name and not email.
Idea of this is using something as: name*pod.com which any can identify as diaspora name. Noone can say email now.
I know the discussion about sending emails to messages on pod, but this isn't solution of recognition diaspora name.
The new name can be used on business card, on webpages as contact, on billboards, in TV ads and many more.
Do you think this is good idea?

There are better ways to make diaspora* unique than breaking standards. Working on this is loosing precious time.

Nice aesthetic idea in principle, but it's not solving an actual problem and I think it might introduce many problems. It's not worth it.

No need for inventing a new syntax which only makes it more confusing. user@domain is a standard syntax for many types of Internet identifications.

I couldn't have the same Email address and Diaspora-id anymore :P

user@domain is used in many cases (email, jabber, ssh, telnet, diaspora, ...) so i think we should keep it.

just because some people don't know anything with an '@' apart from email, doesn't mean we shouldn't educate them about that fact :P

There's no need to change this, we're just creating more problems for absolute zero win.

I disagree to the proposal, since the @ belongs to a technical internet thingy. But I agree that it should not be so confusing to people not in diaspora. Maybe we need a better usersearch?
