Hi @andrewbrow .
I see that you can help with troubleshooting and review and that will be great!

On this first step we need to better understand how this propose here http://bit.ly/2rRwaEE can help.
As you have some experience with Python can you help us evaluate the effort / technical knowlege involved in to develop something using this?

Thank you!

@evertonlins I'm on it!

@jonschull @andrewbrow do you know Microsoft Power BI?

This tool is free (for a certain number of registers) and can be published.

This video explains how to use it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6AIAxMEDiw

Based on Andrew's evaluation we can define if this is an option to help with data sanitation in parallel to the development or even an option to attend specific dashboard needs.

Here in Brazil many companies are using the free version for small databases.

@evertonlins @jonschull Microsoft Power BI seems much more user friendly when it comes to building the dashboard. This would be a great place to start building in the features that we think are the most pertinent. From there, we can explore using Dash. Dash has seemingly endless options that are only limited by ones Python experience. I know a little and can surely learn more as I go along. After all, I did get a degree in "Critical Thinking" for a reason. I say we test our ideas out with the free version of Microsoft Power BI and either upgrade to Pro ($10/month for a single user) or move to Dash if we want to expand functionality. Moving forward we need to determine what kind of data we want to portray and, more importantly, how we will collect that data.

Thanks, @andrewbrow !

I believe that at this point the best path to follow is to create the business case with the assumptions, constraints and goals that will guide the project and use Power BI (free version) for prototyping the final solution. In this way, no coding/development is needed in this first phase.

And of course, if the prototype becomes good enough we can use this free version of Powe BI as the final solution if everyone agrees that is fit for use and also fit for purpose as well.

I'll start a proposal for this and after that, we can start planning the next steps.

Do you accept to use Power BI (free version) to prototype final Dashboard solution? Closed Mon 10 Jul 2017 2:02AM

By using Power BI (free version) no coding/development is needed in this first phase and the team can focus on data acquisition, modelling and definition.

I think is the easiest way to start.

I'm game! I'm not familiar with this but its an impressive video. Perhaps we should start with the media data corpus I created....?

@jonschull I already have the Power BI desktop version.
If you could share a sample of the data I can do some work over the weekend. The tool can import txt, csv, xls and xml.

About licensing,

I strongly believe that e-NABLE is eligible for a Power BI subscription for free.
