How to use Loomio - walkthrough/demo/screencast

RDB Richard D. Bartlett Public Seen by 75

I'm working on a video to make it really easy for new users to get oriented in Loomio. It'll go on loomio.org/how-it-works and linked somewhere in the app (maybe there'll be a little robot character on the Home page that will pop up this video).

The plan is to get Lance to copy (and significantly improve) my illustration, this is just a quick test to see what's going to work. This is a really early sketch but I'm throwing it up for comment before I put more than a couple hours work into it.

From the feedback I've already received, I think it would be good to get rid of all/most of the zooming, and replace it with highlighting areas of interest. We could have the Loomio Helper Bot zooming around with a highlighter pen?

The script is intentionally light on detail, the idea is just to give enough information to get a new user feeling comfortable enough to play around, not to demo every feature. Is there anything sorely missing? Should I run through the 'Start a proposal' procedure?

I also got a bit stuck on the end, what should I add to round that out?

Here's the script
Here's the video password: loomio

Script is great. I made some tiny suggestions on the doc.
Could end by inviting feedback.

Totally enjoying the mockup style screencast, only suggestion would be to keep showing bits of the actual app every so often otherwise it might look like loomio is a nice idea that's years of development away.

Richard has come up with a great walkthrough orientation for users on Loomio. Feedback is really positive about it with afew improvements suggested on the script. Seems like time to move to action with huge thanks to Richard for the initiative!

Nice but a bit dry. Is some background music an option to ease things up and break the ice?
