Help us spread open tech in education!

NS Nathan Schneider Public Seen by 128

Together with the UCSD digital librarian Erin Glass, I've been building a wiki called Ethical EdTech, focused on sharing strategies for free, open, non-extractive technology in education settings. We've built a bit of a foundation, but we have a long way to go. To invite a broader set of stakeholders into the project, we're hosting our first edit-a-thon on April 3. It will be virtual, but we also are inviting people to host their own in-person sessions. (3 so far!) This seems like a project very much aligned with this community, and we'd love for any of you to participate. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for considering!

@ntnsndr you might want to connect with https://learndeep.org/

They are not present in this community, but @lynnfoster @ivan116 and I work with them. How would we suggest to them to engage if they want to do so? Apparently the online participation is not ready yet.

Also Sensorica is talking about an educational program. @tiberiusbrastavice would know more.

@mayel is this something that MoodleNet should engage with?

Hi Nathan - yes please, count me in. I would like to contribute towards this, most certainly.

I'm very interested in this @Nathan Schneider. Where do we stand? How can I contribute?

And I'm in with seeing where conversations about open / commons education may lead. Maybe before recognising how we can contribute we need to co-create / generate worthwhile things to do? Divergent phase? Who's up for something brainstormy / open spacey?
