Sydney Behaviour Intervention Support (BIS) referrals.

AJ Aleks Jovanovic Public Seen by 21

Dear Sydney members,

Just in case you were not aware:

It was agreed in November 2019  that I am the contact person for all Behavioural Intervention and Support (BIS) referrals for Sydney based participants. I've asked Chris to add me as the first point of contact for Sydney (BIS only) on our website.

Please forward all BIS requests, queries to me via email: [email protected]. As needed I will 1) Discuss the BIS team capacity with you, 2) if needed, contact the participant and point them in the right direction (regardless of our capacity) 3) liaise with Jason (lead) and the Jeder Behaviour Support Practitioners and 4) manage the intake waiting list on the drive.

Please post on this thread if you have any questions about Sydney BIS referrals.

Cheers

Aleks

Thanks Aleks.

I would like to suggest that we use Echidna to manage referral/waiting list. I'm happy to discuss further at the next meeting. Echidna has a specific function for waiting list.

I believe Echidna will actively track referral/waiting list and give reminders?

Thanks so much for the clarity on this @Aleks Jovanovic . Can I ask who is the BiS contact for outside Sydney referrals? How is this going to be managed when a BiS Practitioner from Sydney may have more capacity than a regional BiS Practitioner (and how would we know this unless there is a central Regional BiS Contact), as in this new online landscape BiS could be done from anywhere really?

Thank you! 🤔🙂

Thanks, @Meredith Baylis. To be honest, This initiative was suggested so that Sydney BIS referrals could be centralised and if we didn't have the capacity, then someone from Jeder could point the participants in the right direction. I'm familiar with Sydney services so I said I would cover it. Keeping in mind that the Sydney BIS Practitioners consist of Fran and Myself and Anela (Campbelltown) and that we're pretty much at capacity with little room to take on new participants.

Currently, there is one referral contact on our website (info@jeder...) I agreed to do this to fill the gap (something I could do immediately). I think your ideas are great and should be discussed further. Maybe @Jason Emmins could jump into the conversation? :)

Thanks @Aleks Jovanovic for clarifying this. As a CoS, if I have a participant who requires BiS how would i find out if a BiS Practitioner within Jeder has capacity without emailing or ringing all the different BiSsies? would i just email info@Jeder? It would be great to have a central contact point who would know this information.

Hi Meredith, yep I get it. I Dont think members should be using the info@... Email address. For now you could just use the active BIS team thread, up until something better gets developed. The BIS team can reply here too. I’m also happy to log those requests for the time being. What do you think?
