Project: International affiliate support

MM Matt McGregor Public Seen by 391

Following the CC Global Summit in Seoul in October, 2015, there was a general call for greater support for affiliates. I've volunteered some time to help develop this guidance, which will be rolled out in 2016.

I've interviewed Kamil from CC Poland. CC Poland have been one of the most successful CC affiliates working in OER, and help lead an OER Coalition of 35 organisations. Will aim to publish this case study in the new year. Currently lining up interviews with CC Uruguay and CC Korea for Jan 2016.

In the meantime, I've created a homepage for the affiliates project here: https://wiki.creativecommons.org/wiki/Projects_for_Affiliates

I've drafted the case studies with CC Poland - just waiting for their feedback - and have just interviewed CC Uruguay. Despite being a country of 3 million people, they have a team of ten with over 100 volunteers! We have lots to learn from them.

Also, in the last year, 4 of the top 10 albums by Uruguayans were associated with their libre music movement - which I assume means they were CC licensed.

Will share more when it comes to hand.

I've drafted case studies for CC Uruguay, and have interviewed CC Korea. Once these are published, I'll look to write something on an African affiliate, and potentially CC Japan.

Great work Matt. Keen to hear more, particularly about the Uruguay case study.

Yeah, it's fascinating. Project was derailed by new job + new baby - will get these out in the next month or so.
