Hello everyone, I work from home via the Internet. I'm not particularly, 'tech-savvy,' but see the potential of the Internet (both good and bad) to affect the lives of ordinary kiwis. I'm definitely a, 'leftie,' who thinks that things like Education and Healthcare (and Prisons) should not be profit-driven. I prefer long term planning over short term solutions, statesmanship over politics, and believe that we need to give our children hope for a better future - one in which their lives will have meaning. I support the idea of a Universal/Basic Wage - although don't expect to see it implemented within my lifetime.

Do you support the idea of New Zealand implementing a Basic Income? Closed Wed 4 Jun 2014 12:19AM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_income

The question is: Do you support the idea of a basic income?

As this is a discussion - as opposed to, 'policy making,' - it's probable that people will have many different ideas. On the understanding that any details would be worked out over a lengthy period of time - how do you feel about the idea of it?

@andrewrudolph Hi Andrew, thanks for getting involved. You have posted your UBI proposal on this Introduce Yourself page, which I have removed. The place to propose new ideas is on the Internet Party Policy Incubator page, here: https://internet-party.loomio.org/

Click 'start new discussion' near the top right on that page, below your name.

Thanks!

I am an analytical thinker which means the more information I can get my hands on in regard to decision making, the better.
I believe this country needs a better example to be set from top down, let us be the example for others to follow.

Hi I'm Colin McCabe
My wife and I own a commercial radio station on the Coromandel Peninsula, where unfortunately you could put a monkey in a suit put glasses on him and he'd be elected a National MP. . . oh hang on . . . we already have . . . I have a BA double in Pol Sci & History, so consider this process akin to a study of the ant colony!
