SD Suzie Dawson Public Seen by 472

Hey guys - just to let you know, we are currently ironing out the structure by which this will proceed, checking with our legal etc and then will post the info to you ASAP and also on our website.

Topics it will cover:

  1. Core values

  2. Local election rules / compliance

  3. Legal

  4. Accounting

  5. Constitution

  6. Communications

  7. Branding

  8. Decentralisation

  9. Sovereignty

  10. Transparency and open democracy

Second it's vetted and complete it will be up. In the meantime, make sure you tag @ipjobooth if you need your country's Loomio page and Discord channel to be set up, reserve your social media names and website domain names, and talk to other people in your country and bring them on board.

We will continue to forward you expressions of interest and invite people to the Loomio who are interested in participating. Had easily over 100 requests so far so this is going to be huge!

Thanks for your patience while we get this sorted.
Suz

Thanks Suzie!
@jobooth Just a friendly remind I still need a Discord channel set up for IPusa.
Also, what should the website domain be? is that something I need to reserve on my own or has someone already reserved the domains?

nope domains are up to the discretion of the international parties... i suggest either waiting til you have more people involved and seeing if someone has tech hookups or going ahead and reserving a domain name that you think suits.. i would try to keep it as short as possible, ipuk.co.uk / ipusa.com or .orgs or w/e you think works but nice short domains are best

I've grabbed internet-party.co - and happy to build from there - eg us.internet-party.co - could have some info or link to official pages.

Hi @jobooth!

Do you think we could do the same for internet-party.eu so to have it.internet-party.eu. fr.internet-party.eu, etc.?

I think that manage local chapters at a European level would be very useful (thinking also about building the community for the next European elections!)... ;)

P.S.: I've also just sent an email to [email protected]

Hi all

Here is the draft copy of our manifesto for terms and conditions of establishment of international Internet Parties. Please be advised that it is pending legal approval and may be subject to change. Sorry this took a little longer than expected but we really wanted to get it right.

Thanks,
Suz

INTERNET PARTY - INTERNATIONAL GUIDELINES

CORE VALUES

As stated under section 3 (Objectives) of the Constitution of the Internet Party of New Zealand, our core values are:

• Openness
• Freedom
• Fairness
• Connectedness
• Innovation

LOCAL ELECTION RULES / COMPLIANCE

Each international Internet Party is responsible for learning and complying with the particular election rules of their country/state/province. The electoral rules followed by the Internet Party of New Zealand relate only to the territory of New Zealand and are not applicable to the international movement. The Internet Party of New Zealand suggests that you consult local expertise in order to assure you comply with any and all electoral rules and associated legislation.

LEGAL

The Internet Party of New Zealand advises that you should seek and employ local, competent legal counsel in order to ensure that the legal aspects of your Party business structure, communications, finances and the operations of your Party comply with applicable local laws.

ACCOUNTING

The Internet Party of New Zealand advises that you should seek and employ local, competent accounting assistance in order to ensure that you are fully complying with applicable local financial and accounting regulations.

CONSTITUTION

The Internet Party of New Zealand Constitution sets out the rules for the operation of the Party and it’s structure. The Internet Party of New Zealand allows the use of its Party Constitution as a base template from which the international Parties can adopt and later make adjustments by consensus of their Executive Committee once appointed, as befits their circumstances, provided that such alterations are in the spirit of the Core Values of the Internet Party of New Zealand.

The most recent copy of the Constitution of the Internet Party of New Zealand can be read here:

http://ipnz.github.io/Docs/ConstitutionAndRules/

COMMUNICATIONS

Although the Internet Party of New Zealand has supplied the Loomio and Discord spaces for the initial point of contact for the international Internet Parties, the latter are responsible for setting up their own social media accounts and website domains, establishing and moderating their own communications channels and for any content or conduct within or related to the aforementioned.

BRANDING

International Internet Parties must be recognisable to the public by the use of a modified version of the Internet Party of New Zealand logo. The Internet Party of New Zealand allows use of this logo on the following understanding:

the original logo will not be altered, only added to (by adding words or graphics that represent your country)
that the brand will not be used to represent anything which violates our Core Values
please email your modified brand to [email protected] for approval
For official copies of our branding templates/logo please contact [email protected]

TECH SUPPORT

Some initial tech support, within reason, is available by contacting @ipnztech on Twitter (DM’s are open)

Any questions? email [email protected]

All international Parties must be registered with the Internet Party of New Zealand and will be listed in our directory site which is going up at https://internet-party.co

SUBSCRIPTION FEES

At no time will the Internet Party of New Zealand charge any membership or subscription fees from the international Parties. Only New Zealand citizens who are members of the Internet Party of New Zealand are subject to the payment of membership fees.

In agreeing with the above terms and establishing their Parties, the international Parties recognise that the relationship between the Internet Party of New Zealand and the international Parties is non-financial.

PIRATE PARTIES INTERNATIONAL

The Internet Party of New Zealand is applying for member status with Pirate Parties international (PPI). This can be extended to international Internet Parties on a case-by-case basis. There are many benefits to joining PPI - as there is an established international network of many thousands of tech-savvy members, with a mature organisational structure and annual conference. We highly suggest that once firmly established, each international Internet Party also applies for member status with PPI.

DISCLAIMER

Internet Party of New Zealand disclaims any and all liability arising from any and all activities of the international Internet Parties.

NOTES: This document is currently pending approval by the legal counsel of the Internet Party of New Zealand and may be modified in the future. Any revised copy will be posted to the International page on our Loomio. It is the responsibility of the International Parties to keep up to date with any such changes.
