ICLV Headliner: What Will Happen if the DOJ Kills Cooperation & Compensation on the MLS?

BW Bill Wendel Public Seen by 30

Cross-posting from RECALL (Real Estate Consumer Alliance) Roundtable.

Greetings, fellow real estate consumer advocates and buyer agents,

It was good to hear from Oke today as well as Wendy, and invite both to share progress on their moneysaving real estate business models.  Would rather hear their responses to the only session at Inman Connect dealing with regulatory interventions than industry loyalists who are unlikely to rock the boat.  See exchange with panel moderator and his clever dig at OpenDoor after FTC's $62M fine!

What's your take:  What Will Happen if the DOJ Kills Cooperation and Compensation on the MLS? Shared my response last week:

#REShiftHappens began using that hashtag year before @InmanConnect used it repeatedly - 11 times - to describe sessions in their event 8/3-5/22 What Will Happen if @TheJusticeDept Kills Cooperation & Compensation on the #MLS? Another session tomorrow caught my eye particularly since there seems to be a dark cloud hanging over the conference Beyond Reality: How the Market Shift Is Impacting Top Agents Finally, to their credit, Inman is crowdsourcing attendees and inviting roundtable discussions.  What should we discuss tomorrow at our weekly roundtable, 5:30pm start offline in Cambridge at Fresh Pond Beer Garden or online?

What session ideas do you have that we didn't cover? Now's your chance to create the content. Bring your topic ideas and challenges to our first-ever Crowdsource at Connect segment for a hour of brainstorming and networking around topics requested by you, our Inman community.

Did anyone watch this session -- What Will Happen if the DOJ Kills Cooperation and Compensation on the MLS?

It was better than I expected and Brian Boero, CEO of @1000WattAgency might have lost some clients by dropping his skepticism on the #RECartel -- asking if $40B of the commission pie would disappear.
