Track 2 : Develop a learning program

Objective: Create the curriculum and desired outcome of the program.

Some of the questions to discussed are:

what are the desired outcome? - what are the skills we want to cultivate?- how to create a program that allow student to practice the desired skills?- how to connect student to their peers?- how to connect student to their community?- how to create self awareness and cultivate mindfulness?- how to learn and practice critical thinking?- how to learn and practice problem solving?- how to learn and practice creativity?- how to learn and practice collaboration?- how to learn and practice communication?- how to learn business design?- how to learn process design?- how to learn leadership design?- how to learn project design?- how to find real life assignment for student's hands-on mission?- what is the number of projects, lectures, missions, etc?- what is the ideal duration (time) to do all this?- which city and projects needed for student?- which partner to collaborate? - what is needed to put in place to achieve this?- what other skills (tools) are needed? (ie. art of hosting, harvesting, appreciative enquiry, etc..)- how to learn about group dynamics, self, society?- how to connect to self?- how does a day look like? and a week?- what should be the ideal duration?- how does the curriculum look like? - learn about theory U. and u.lab practice - co-sensing, learning journey, etc- - ...

Let students work with paying clients - have an agreement that a certain percentage of the payment will go to the AkaSchool. In Denmark many of the universities has pools where companies post their challenges as assignments for students to choose. That could be one way of finding clients

Give the students ownership and responsibility. Don´t serve everything on a silverplate. Let them get challenged even in their own group and learning settings - and have them use their tools and skills to solve these situations.

Self-awareness and mindfulness comes from frequent and repetitive practise as well as mirroring to and from others. Create a structure where that can happen in a safe environment. Council Guide Training or something similar could be one answer - it can easily be connected to Theory U.

The Belbin or Myers Briggs Test could be interesting ways for the students to reflect about themselves - it might be valuable to do that in combination with some coaching.

Many of the answers to the above questions requires a change of mindset.

Reflection is probably key to many of the questions from a sustainable perspective.

Having the students communicate to others what they have learned is a good way for them to really understand and get closer to an embodyment of what they have learned.

Potential partnership with the Kaospilots Switzerland - maybe 2nd and 3rd year students could teach some subjects ie how to design and facilitate processes or act as coaches. The Council Guide Training that all Kaospilots from Switzerland has can be seen as a coaching education. The Kaospilot learning environment is often process based rather than lecture based meaning that the students have been part of a lot of processes from where they gain inspiration and experience.

You are right that this need a shift of mindset and this is one of the thing that we want to instigate. I will revert back with more focus questions to guide this discussion later.
