Barcelona en Comú - open invitation meeting in Barcelona June 9-11!

NL Nicole Leonard Public Seen by 114

We would like to invite you to the "Fearless cities" meeting in Barcelona, a special summit for us that we want to share with all those who we know are fighting for a better life in our cities and towns. We think the academia must be also involved on this necessary change.

Please save the date on the 9-11 of June, 2017.

The event will take place in Barcelona and it will be a moment to say the world that we want to create a municipalist network of refuge and hope.

It is really important for us that you and your movements join us.

Invitation and more details to follow soon.

Best,

This is very interesting and necessary, my organisation the Trasnational Institute is working on a project focused on how cities are a transformative agent.
How is it possible to join?

Hello @soltrumbovila. I'm involved in various groups of activists in Grenoble (France), principally for the right to housing and the right to the city issue. During our last week of action in march , we've organized in Grenoble a local common assembly and created a "urban common" group. Also, I wrote a first draft of "policy paper" https://europeancommonsassembly.hackpad.com/Urban-Commons-SQJ1iJrcOLp where i mention some examples of organization involved in right to housing and right to the city and perspectives. After Bruxelles meeting, I spoke with @fredericsultan and @nicoleleonard to create an active working group about urban common issue. We could identify groups or experiences of urban comming to strengthen the first "policy proposal" and maybe propose a process toward the Madrid meeting. What do you think about that ? Who are interested to be involved in this process ?

Yes, thank you @planninggroup for linking! We had a nice call on Madrid today, I will post the summary tomorrow or Wednesday. We certainly want to see articulation between 1)urban commons group 2) this meeting in BCN and 3) the ECA meeting in Madrid.
