Everyone who voted and is actually a member has agreed, so we will begin suggesting $20 as the minimum amount weekly to join, except for it this too much or for students
As the most populat outcome from the ranked choice thing, and easy to put in place, how do we feel about increasing the suggested minimum for regular members?

Tentatively agree - but should make sure that members know to pay less if they otherwise can’t afford it. It would be counterproductive to lose members with a price hike

Absolutely. It's a suggested fee after all, so no one is being compelled, but hackland needs to be financially sustainable, and we're not doing anyone any favours if the membership is set too low.

Sublet the upstairs HL1 back room to an external group for $100 at least per week. It doesn't get used much.

I think it would be a cool idea to use the back room as member storage & other projects (screen printing etc), and maybe move one of the couches in there too - so it's the the chill space. Then we tidy up HL1 front room and make that more of a computer working space. This way we create more space in the well used areas, and may attract more people to join to use the space as a workspace. Just my thoughts anyway :)
