Hello all. So, I inherited Technocation from Sheeri a while ago and I have been really excited about all the cool things I can do with this organization and group of friends.

I would like to try and use Loomio as a discussion list if possible. This is a public group, so anyone can read what we are up to and that is awesome as far as I am concerned.

So, here is my introduction... I am Guido, I like to go to events and if needed run them. I am currently interested in open source, geospatial, and data tech. I hope that with Technocation I can contribute to the community by making educational and social opportunities for people in Boston, the US, and the world.

I am currently working on FedGeo day, PostGIS day, and Information Superhighway. I hope to talk more people into joining the Technocation community. While the major reason for having this organization is to support the OSGeo US, Technocation can be more flexible as it's mission is to support education for IT professionals.

I hope people join in and share who they are and what they are interested.

Hello everyone,
I am Kurt and I run my own consulting biz out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have been using FOSS4G since the early 2000's and am a big FOSS4G advocate. I usually work in the conservation/natural resource and public health arenas. I also teach and am just now wrapping a trip that took me to the Netherlands to teach a 5 day QGIS and Hydrology training course and to Ottawa, Ontario to teach a custom 3 day intensive Introduction to QGIS course for the Canadian Armed Forces. Heading home tomorrow.

I am excited to help both OsGeo US and QGIS US in anyway. Outreach and education is the key to getting these tools integrated into more disciplines.
Cheers,
Kurt

Good Morning.
I'm Randy (Randal Hale) - I'm in Chattanooga TN. I've run a consulting business for the last 10 years or so. Use to work for the feds and have been in the Geo world 26....ugh....a long time. Anyway - I've been active in the FOSS4G world since about 2012 or 2013. Actually all my work centers around FOSS4G currently - which is nice. I'm active with the QGIS.us group and try to be active with the QGIS community in general. I try to organize some local events in and around TN and North Georgia for the FOSS4G users.

Hi all - apologies I missed the poll and am late to intros! I vow to do better at checking in here. I'm Kayla I work for the City of Boston on their Digital Team. I have a background in GIS and work closely with the City's GIS Team to better integrate our geographic and regular datasets across boston.gov. I'm a little bit newer to actively participating in the FOSS4G community, my intro was running the volunteer portion of last year's conference in Boston, but have been watching from afar for about three years. I'm really excited to get open source tools in the hands of more people, particularly when it comes to GIS work. There's been so much great development in the FOSS4G world and I'm excited to help spread knowledge about it.
