7 members co-ops to leave CoTech [formerly 9]

AC Animorph Co-op Public Seen by 82

We discussed the issue of lapsed members at the gathering in Birmingham last week.

During the decision making session at the end of the first day we passed the proposal to reverse membership of co-ops, which appear to meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • not responding to any communication for 2+ months,

  • their domain has been inactive,

  • they informed us about folding.

We wanted to ensure we give everyone a chance assuming they might have missed our emails throughout the year. On the second day of the gathering we attempted to reach lapsed co-op members over the phone, in some cases successfully, some of them said they are not operating, others said they are still game!

Here is the list of the co-ops proposed for removal from CoTech due to prolonged inactivity:

  • Digital Liberties - reason: domain defunct, no luck contacting over the phone.

  • dtc innovation - reason: no luck reaching out via email addresses, no phone number.

  • Fairmondo UK - reason: domain defunct, confirmed folded over the phone.

  • GildedSplinters - reason: domain defunct, no luck contacting over the phone.

  • Glowbox Design - reason: domain defunct, no luck contacting over the phone.

  • InFact - reason: confirmed inactive and folding.

  • Open E Commerce - reason: no replies, no luck contacting over the phone.

  • Sleuth - reason: confirmed inactive and folding.

  • Secure Active - reason: domain defunct, no luck contacting over the phone.

If you are aware of any information that can contradict the reasons above for any of the co-ops, speak now! Conversely, if you know of any other co-ops that are on this list yet might have stopped trading - also speak up!

Dear all, sorry to be late to the discussion - I am taking over temporarily from Richard Barbrook who is Da Man on Digital Liberties - he has been signed off for 12 months with Long Covid but me and Jon Bains, Stefan Lutschinger, Simon Sarginson and Karo Janicka are on it and active. The accounts are up to date and with Coop Accountant as nominated by Fabian in the set up, and we are active in publishing, game development, digital skills course building for UK and EU. Will update all discussions shortly, just to say hello and active !
