Rename Desicion to Proposal

Different things have different names. Why not call "decisions" what they really are: "polls". A "proposal" is contains "polls" which are created to check the temperature. After several "polls" & "discussion" a decision emerges, the "final proposal".

If this is a proposal I agree in the use of "I agree but I think we can find a better one. If not then this one is fine". Lets see if there is another proposal with better results.

The argument that a non-final decision would better be called a 'poll' is a strong one for me. For minimal confusion, I would stick with 'decision'.

This proposal is well conceived and anticipates that the result of proposals may (or may not) not be decisions directly. When the result is a representation of a collective mind, the positioning to the decision maker is very important. This helps.

I now believe that we should leave this as-is. The proposal writer has every opportunity to describe the result(s) of the group vote, whether a solid decision, a poll, "temperature" or other. The casting of the vote is the individuals decision.

The beauty of Loomio is its simplicity. "Decision" implies a clear end result. "Proposal" implies the possibility of further discussion. The fundamental purpose of Loomio is for collaborative decision making - let's keep that clear and simple.

This is an awesome discussion bringing out lots of important points. But I don't think there's one answer. We've looked into custom options for vote labels and decision/proposal/recommendation etc.. I think that's more the way to go.

I think it is confusing to have 'Decision' as the heading and then 'Create a proposal' as the action.
