We should shut down the Telegram accounts and switch to Discord Closed Fri 21 Dec 2018 2:02AM
Trello to be shut down ASAP and everyone to register new Discord accounts ASAP as well.

For the public channels at least, this seems to be where we are heading. Private channels (eg. housemate chatter) may not be doable in Discord- needs investigating.

Something else to ensure is that we are all storing our logins securely and with 2FA if possible.

Seems good so far fast and clean presentation. Maybe we set a deadline for everyone to shift over and then archive our telegram chats if that is possible as some useful history in there that we should archive on google docs if possible.

I have figured it out. The first sub chat is in the projects category. #drywall. I was thinking I was creating chats at first but I was only creating categories, on the catagory press the + and create a text or chat and we will get a new #. As the chats are outdated one of us can clean up the old chats to keep the discord clean.

Do we want open admin to all people or do we want a role made up for permissions less than full admin for all users and keep admin to a select few?

I think a select few is good, as is usual with these things the fewer people with privileged access the better; and once you have opened things up it's much harder to get them under control again. Need to confirm with @tom120 that the "residents" group is able to create new channels- if this is the case then there is no real need for others to be made admin.

Great idea on archival @deancameron. Who created the Telegram chats in the first place? They will likely have to take responsibility for backing them up. I can assist if it turns out to be a technical job.

I'm still trying to figure out how to create multiple channels in discord. If it only lets you have "#general" in the free version then it's less useful than I'd like it to be... can someone else with more time available see if they can figure it out? @rodneywhitman you seem to know about the platform a bit?
