Strip out D* Beta features. Closed Fri 7 Sep 2012 7:25AM
Diaspora's Beta features ended up not being very conducive to Diaspora itself, and was better-suited to Makr.io. We should strip out the hybrid Beta/Makr stuff as a starting point.

Would it be easier to just go back to the pre-beta source code and merge in the new functionality that we DON'T want to roll back? Or does it not matter?

Agree with Florian, the beta profile is interesting, more than the single view post. We just have to keep a way to easily switch from the two profiles

Sad to see those go, however it may make the code cleaner and easier to understand/contribute.
Some of the features did suck, but others were ok. I liked the profile itself but posting on the stream sucked!

No, a lot of useful underlying changes and fixes went in alongside beta. It's more useful to strip out beta than it is to roll back and cherry-pick months upon months of fixes.
