Funded support for new and emerging coops

MJ Martyn Johnston Public Seen by 126

Could not find what I was looking for in the open threads so I thought it might be helpful to start one.

Questions and answers around support available for new and emerging coops - specifically "pathways" through The Hive and other funded support opportunities.

Hi @martynjohnston. I'm based in Kirklees and would be interested to help out if I can. I've got lots of experience working in/with/for co--ops and have started a few over the years. Also keen to learn more about what you are up to there.

Thank you both, this is why the funded peer-support programme through The Hive really appealed to us. You wanna check out the application form! Almost need some funded coop development work to fill it out. We just want some dosh to pay someone like @graham2 to help us out! Will keep you posted on the process and how this programme works once our application is in. Thank you.

@martynjohnston I think that's a great idea, very happy to run a session on Co-operatives UK what it does really offer worker co-ops and what do you want it to offer.

As long as we are realistic that anything offered has to be financially viable, we're "not-for-profit" but we do need to pay our bills.

Understood John. I think it would be a healthy exercise to review the practical benefits membership offers to new and emerging coops. I'm sure there is a lot already there, easy wins to be found in stuff already available but hidden, as well as new ideas around support networks.
