What name shall we go by?

The name Forgotten was picked by me. It wasn't democratic so here's an opportunity to make it democratic.

Hi there, could someone tell me a little more about what this discussion group is for? The title intrigued and brief description intrigued me..

Forgotten is a sanctuary for human beings. It is a sub-community of Lothlorien which has the following purpose:
We will create a new society in which the general population will take control of it’s own destiny and concern itself with community interests guided by values of solidarity, sympathy, and concern for others; democracy and freedom are essential to survival; and we use our knowledge about human behaviour to create a social environment in which we shall live productive and creative lives without jeopardizing the chances that those who follow us will be able to do the same.

We are a non-profit community which has incorporated the Twin Oaks legal framework, the universal declaration of human rights, and we are open to all people. We named our community Forgotten because it serves people forgotten by society, namely people who are landless, homeless, unemployed, without savings or income, but they are willing to work. We also serve others who love nature as well as people who want to forget the suffering and injustice of societies based on material gain. Even so, we accept all people regardless of their previous situation so long as they live up to their responsibilities.

Hi there, thanks for the introduction to your initiative, it sounds very interesting. What stage are you at with the organising of your community?

I'm a member of another group on Loomio called 'Assembling' https://www.loomio.org/g/hTkelDRX/assembling-cumulo
We're a group of artists and curators from the UK and Cuba. Our work is exploring collaboration and decision making within artist communities in both countries, now and in the past. Currently we're experimenting with using the Loomio platform to discuss and develop artworks alongwith a curatorial framework for an exhibition at Chelsea School of Art in London in February. We very much welcome input to this process, and we're keen to hear from other groups using Loomio.
