Kickstarter Campaign for a Book on FairShares Commons Companies

R Rory (FSA) Public Seen by 119

Dear FairSharers,

Yesterday evening I participated in the first of a series of online discussions about a new book 'Picasso and Einstein: The Economy, Leadership and You'. The book has been written by an early adopter of the FairShares Model (Evolutesix) and contains a whole chapter on the creation of FairShares Commons Companies - something that Graham Boyd (founder of Evolutesix) is advocating and promoting in numerous consultancy projects undertaken by the company.

They are in the middle of a Kickstarter campaign to fund the production and marketing of the book. Whilst they have reached their lower target, they are yet to reach their stretch target. The stretch target will not just enable the publication and marketing of the book, but also help fund the creation of Evolutesix Publishing (a new FairShares Commons Company).

Given the value and importance of this book, and publisher, to the future of the FairShares movement, would you (individually or collectively) like to support the campaign?

You may also wish to contribute individually (I've already done so). However, there are 11 days to go - time for us to discuss a collective contribution as well.

Financially, we have £1,500 in our PayPal account (of which around £800 is needed for essential expenditure on website hosting/resources). However, our income is rising with the start of online courses (the first of which has just started).

Add your thoughts and if required we can make a proposal. Alternatively, just support the Kickstarter Campaign.

Best wishes

Thanks for sharing Rory - looks like a good kickstarter for us each to contribute to, if interested. I think I will pre-order the book.

Since they've reached there goal - I would less likely to start proposing a corporate contribution, unless there was some very specific proposal with some sort of tangible ROI (financial or otherwise) to the association.

Hi Rory, Sam

Thank you so much for publicising!

All, if we can get to our stretch target we can get the book out by middle of the year.

Sam and all - One correction - the stretch goal enables us to finish faster, by
- putting in concentrated effort
- hire a professional editor to get the book fully readable.

The publishing company we are starting will have a distinct crowdinvestment campaign that we will start next year. The intent of the publishing + social media agency company is to get cutting edge practices around making the world work, regenerative / circular economy, healthy society and business etc. published and widely disseminated so that we put it into practice faster than the climate crisis, 17SDG etc. are moving.

AND - if any of you know any authors that would be interested in publishing via a FairShares Commons company, send them our way. I've copied Jess, Antoine and JC who are pulling that together

Thank you
Graham

Thanks Rory for helping to spread the word. I backed the campaign individually myself - I agree with Sam that's a great way to go. # of backers is a great thing for people to see as we head in to the last 7 day stretch. This campaign is just for the book and next year as we launch the FairShares Commons publishing company we will be doing a separate crowd fund. And yes please join the linkedin group - would be awesome to have you all there.

Here is the link for the crowd funding page - if you've already backed it - consider increasing your pledge to help meet the stretch goal. http://bit.ly/li3332 - the world is so hungry for this message your support in helping get it out there faster is much appreciated.

Reading is one of my favorite things to do, and I do it whenever I can. In general, the more I read, the more difficult it is to find the right balance between reading and learning. Many students can get help with their assignments by going to websites like https://www.trustmypaper.com/, like this one. People who are good at writing are hired by the company, and they want to be paid a fair amount.
