Trying out this thread to see if it is a way that we could usefully share resources, experience and knowledge

I'm uncertain where to post this, but I wondered if people knew about snowdrift.coop, which sounds like (superficially at least) a similar proposition to Culture Banking

https://snowdrift.coop/about

We're building a sustainable funding platform for freely-licensed works everyone can use and share without limitations. Our innovative crowdmatching pledge creates a network effect where we all work together to support these public goods.

(Heard through social.coop's ongoing Loomio discussions of their Code of Conduct, in which someone referenced Snowdrift's CoC as exemplar)

Yep,

That sounds about right - dunno what鈥檚 so complicated! Sounds like a different model tho - will investigate.. Thanks

So - Just to elaborate the reflections having read a little:
SnowDrift does indeed have some exemplary ethical policies... It strikes me that the project is under discussion as is CultureBanking庐. I had certainly considered a crowd-funding like model for the re-distributive process for CultureBanking庐 and SnowDrift seems to be covering this angle. What it doesn't cover is the need to generate income in the first place. They note that 'ROI' is a non-starter due to FLO principles and so only 'donations' are asked for. This is likely to limit sustainability and is not strong as a working model on it's own. By using IP assets as the platform for donations into a common fund, it is possible to ensure there is incentive to 'donate' and a possibility of some return (reciprocity).

If anyone has any links to SnowDrift, I would very much like an opportunity to discuss the possibility of amalgamating functions - or just sharing what we've developed thus far...

Thanks for pointing this out @wulee
