Follow up on the M&E webinar of March 22
Hello Cassia,
I hope my note finds you well. I am writing to follow up on the webinar of March 22. I was expecting the meeting brief to be circulated for feedback and comment, especially that I had a lot to contribute but technical difficulties prevented me from pitching in! How are you taking the discussion forward? I would like to share with the group some perspectives on evaluating the SDGs... I look forward to your feedback...
By the way, I am not receiving any update from this platform. Am I missing something? Please let me know...
Thanks,
Kassem

Thanks Stella for sharing the insightful report, and Mazambi for your reply.
I look forward to Cassia's feedback and would like to call for more consultation on SDGs M&E, particularly among those who are preparing for the HLPF to be held in July. Any plan to generate positions and advocate for key messages to influence the meeting?
Looking forward steering a discussion on the role of civil society in influencing the SDG evaluation processes (as granted by Agenda 2030).

Another email with updates will be sent this week before ICSW (http://civicus.org/icsw).
I would also like to share with the group the new DataShift report "Changing what counts": http://civicus.org/thedatashift/learning-zone/research/changing-what-counts/#case-studies This report looks at how citizens and civil society groups can generate data as a means to influence institutional data collection. We profile citizen-generated and civil society data projects and how they have been used as advocacy instruments to change institutional data collection – including looking at the strategies, methods, technologies and resources that have been mobilised to this end. We conclude with a series of recommendations for civil society groups, public institutions, policy-makers and funders.
I look forward to your feedback, you can join the conversation by attending our next webinar in partnership with GPSA om May 5 - 10am EDT: http://civicus.org/thedatashift/join-us-in-may-for-a-webinar-and-e-forum-on-citizen-generated-data-and-the-sdgs/
