There is a "-1" where the number of new comments on a discussion is usually displayed. When I click on the discussion, and click on the Loomio logo to take me back to my dashboard, it's still there.

If this has a discussion, or is being dealt with through the Issues tracker on GITHub, feel free to delete this discussion, but please let me know where the current discussion is taking place.

I think this number stems from a comment of mine that I have deleted as it became redundant alter looking at the following comments. I thought it had nothing to add anymore and only litters a new readers stream.

I thought it was probably caused by a deleted comment. However, the "-1" is definitely a bug as it's not useful in the interface, and especially because it doesn't seem to go away.

Thanks @strypey. This is recorded here: https://github.com/loomio/loomio/issues/1990

I've done a bunch of work on this issue in the past, it's frustrating it still happens, but it's happening a lot less at least. I think there is another action I can take.

Thanks Robert for your work on this. Variables can be such a pain!

Just as a process question, is it better to bring up issues like this here, or go straight to GITHub and create an Issue (or add a report to an existing one)?

I'd love to see a process evolve where if it's a question of feature development ("Wouldn't it be cool if Loomio did this?") it starts here, where it can get a healthy discussion around it, but if it's clearly an implementation problem (I see -1 notifications when I should see 0), it goes straight to github issues, hopefully for a community member to pick up and fix quickly (or at least provide an explanation as to why it's happening.)

4 months ago, I referred to this problem, using the following link and was not solved

That make sense @jameskiesel, and I'll try to follow your suggestion. Keep in mind though that most users trying to help the Loomio community will search this group first. It would great if there was some way to make issues being triaged on GITHub more discoverable here.

In reference to your last comment, @strypey : Loomio has a fairly new Help page which is an inconspicuous link on the bottom right of the 'standard' interface. I don't think it's linked yet in the angular interface. One of the sections in that Help page is about Contributing to Loomio, with a focus on GitHub.

@hannahsalmon I think you had lots to do with the Help page, and I'm wondering if there are any plans yet to make it more visible and more commonly known. It's pretty awesome!

Hi @gregorycassel. In the beta interface there is another link to the Help docs in the user dropdown (the menu that displays when you click on your avatar in the navbar). We will be updating the Help docs for Loomio 1.0 over the next little while and then exposing them in the new interface before we actively encourage more people to use it.
