The website is here: http://oersprint.nz/

Please send this around your networks, and ask them to register.

We'll do a bit of a push this week and next. We're also mentioning this in various CC articles we're writing for educational sector magazines.

The logo isn't ready yet, but I figure there's no point waiting till next week - we can add it when it's ready. The alignment of the text in the main header image also looks a bit funny, but we can fix that later on.

We can also add venues as we go, and begin to figure out the logistics when we have a better idea of the numbers involved.

Sorry Chris - I was still typing!

We'll have a poster ready for the beginning of the year next year, as well.

I'll add the logos to the website footer as they come in.

Finally, I've asked potential sponsors to contact me on the site, though feel free to arrange local sponsorship for the event. We can recognise them through the site and other promotional materials, of course.

For spreading the word, you might want to put some blurb on twitter tagged with #educampNZ or #wellyed or the other regional events mentioned at - http://educampnz.wikispaces.com/. Make contact with https://twitter.com/@FionaGrant to check that it is okay and ask for tips.

What about posters? I recently designed a5/a6 sized posters for the Hamilton Python User Group meeting (hoping it leads to more people attending the meetup). Willing to lend my design skills to oersprints.

Also any development on the tshirt front?

Thoughts on a Twitter account for oerspints? Can also attach one of my Python Twitter bot scripts to make it hilarious.

I've been pushing the event a bit with the #WellyEd crowd, but it could definitely use more visibility around the places where teachers hangout.

I get the sense that techies and techie-minded educators are pretty on board, but it's either not on the radar for most educators or they don't quite understand the value of open educational resources yet.

Hey Jess,
Do you use twitter ?
If you did a promo and added @coreeducation you’ll get a big teacher hit.
And FB has a group NZ Teachers (Primary).

Sorry to suggest but not do anything, I’m just about to board my flight for Sth Africa!
I’m @librarypaula …. and will retweet madly anything about it :)

Cheers,
paula

A poster is a cool idea - anyone should totally feel free to go at it! We can put it on the website & print a few, if it's useful.

We'll step up our Twitter game shortly, too.
