Using an online tool to make decisions in Auroville

K Kristen Public Seen by 21

A quick Google search for "community decision-making online" brought up Loomio. I think the Auroville community can learn from this tool whether or not we use it in any significant way. There will be aspects that people like about it and aspects that people don't like about it. We can try discussing those here.

What are the limitations of making decisions online using such a tool as this? And what are the limitations of making decisions in large meetings? Which sort of decisions would be better suited to one method versus the other?

Closed the proposal for now. There is no cancel or delete that I could find.

Briefly looked though it. It has potential, but still in its early stage of development and the action flows are not very clear. UI has miles to go. Our user group will not be able to use this tool as it is.
Worth tracking its future.

@john13 seems I can delete comments but not proposals or responses.

@manojpavitran what would you change?

The stack of comments on the left column and its relation to the right column is unclear. A user need to know where a comment belongs to, its context. Establishing clarity on context will be the first step I would do. Eg. Comment x is on discussuion Y so I can look at Y to understand comment x, in the context of all other info related to Y. This workflow is missing.

And one will need to make sure that only people entitled to vote can do so.
