P pospi Public Seen by 154

We need to come to a solid collective agreement on which spaces we will be renting out and under which timelines those will become available.

Sam should switch to paying for the shipping container rent (as of December) @ $800/mo, including utility fee Closed Tue 18 Dec 2018 11:02AM

This means previous rent of $1230 + $120 utility fee has been reduced to $680 + $120 utility fee & that we need to start advertising the bigger room ASAP.

That is fine, but I feel I'm the only one who is paying the largest chunk of the fiat system, meaning I have to continue using fiat just to keep this project going... Is there some sort of agreement where this pressure can become less at some point in time? If we use the REA accounting system asap I can at least see a good purpose to this increased pressure in my life.

Sure but I mean, you and Nicole have the biggest space and an ensuite plus another room for Alex, shouldn't you expect to be paying the most? I don't imagine that is going to change much unless you move rooms, but having more renters in may change things. We need to make a proper plan for how to charge for rooms moving forward that is based on reasonable value of the room rather than on doing favours for people.

Tom your contribution is important and valued but beatnik. In mind that the extra you are paying is building your equity in the property so essentially it’s true show of long term commitment

Yeah Tom, you are a beatnik. But seriously your contribution has helped the project move forward so thank you. I hope the new unit downstairs rented out takes that pressure off you.

Bear in mind that in bruns ecovillage they require an up front payment of 90k and still they have to pay rent on top of this and they don’t have an equity stake in the same way we have devised it.

I am filling in the blanks a bit so I need clarification to vote. S&K are going to empty the red shed container and knock out the wall inbetween the red and white container to make one tiny house that they will live in. Where will work aways live? Financially how does this work with the property?

I think there is a lot more to talk about here that will extend this decision beyond a simple "1 week vote"...
