The current project CultureBanks is developing is to establish 3 focus sessions, in which rights holders come together to work with professionals from the licensing industry, artists and legal experts to identify potential assets which could be put to greater use and possible outlets/opportunities to develop them. (I will post some examples of similar projects when I have some time!) The object of the groups is to populate up to 3 'proof of concept' projects to act as a CultureBanking 'Minimal Value Product' - to use the lexicon of business start-ups.

Don't you mean "Minimal Viable Product"?

Liam: please let me review if I am understanding properly your idea: CB will be a data base for all creations (artists) and at the same time a place where they will trade their works??? (I understand that you also want to create a p2p development environment, but this would be within the lending or selling process between creators. )

Hi Miguel, I'm not suggesting any kind of centralised database. Some sort of system of identification is necessary, using methods appropriate to different media. Digital assets will require a distributed ledger using either hash-codes, digital finger prints or other means (A Thread for discussion in itself!). As a distributed database, I'm also not proposing to provide a marketplace - there are plenty already. This is a 'Bank' and what holds the works together is their license, terms and conditions and an identifier: 'CultureBanked®'. The business plan will outline the range of possible activities CultureBanking might engage in - in some kind of order. Re: Your last point - I would say that P2P environments already exist and this is a tool to grow and expand them - but not an 'environment' in itself. Just a tool for managing assets and collecting incomes. A Mutual Asset Bank owned by it's depositors. More details to follow... thanks for the question. Liam

I'd appriciate some clarity too. Maybe some sort of agenda would help.

Agreed... I've set this up so that there will be a structure for people to contribute under. I want to talk to people face to face to explain the project in detail - hence the Friday event - then invite them here. Am updating the business plan now which outlines setting the project up as an 'entity' and will upload that too.. Have you any suggestions for agenda items? I'm looking for a few people to act as a 'steering group' as well...and a trustee ;-) Let's have a coffee sometime and chat a bit more...?

Liam.. It seems that you already have a ¨future vision¨... I am willing to help in some meetings to review the project, understand it and help if I can. I would recommend to you do a web page of a cultureBank in the way you imagine that should work... Even you can do hand drawings, but with the idea ¨operating ..¨.. (not describing the project, but showing what will "the users" do on the culture bank.. ). We sit down on a net meeting, we make all the questions we need to understand it.... ... If you are far away from it, we could do a meeting to clarify the problem you are trying to solve... and other basic question...talking and clarifying at the same time the scope of the project.......
