R Rory (FSA) Public Seen by 119

Dear FairSharers,

The first tutor-led 'Introduction to the FairShares Model' course is currently running with students from the USA, Eire and the UK. Enrolments are now open for the next course - maximum 10 students.

Dates: 26th February 2020 - 13th May 2020
7pm each Wednesday evening (1 hr) + 3 hrs of self-study per week.

£295 for a 10 Weeks, studying with Prof Rory Ridley-Duff

This course provides an opportunity for anyone interested in the FairShares Model to explore and apply it to their work. In addition to exploring values and principles, key questions, approaches to learning (and decision-making), students will use a range of FairShares auditing and diagnostic tools to gather information needed to develop a plan for a FairShares enterprise. In the final stages of the course, students will learn how to use a FairShares Canvass to prepare for the creation of a new social enterprise and generate a draft constitution for a new FairShares company, cooperative, partnership or association.

Target Groups

  • Entrepreneurs seeking to (re)design a social enterprise for multiple stakeholders.

  • Enterprise educators wishing to encourage the study of multi-stakeholder social enterprise.

Dear FairSharers - our first three students will graduate from the Introduction to the FairShares Model course next Wednesday (all being well).

The second course has sufficient enrolments to run. It you have been planning to join them, visit http://fsi.coop/courses and enrol by 24th Feb. The second course starts on 26th February (6pm, UK Time, at https://whereby.com/fairshares-study).

Quick reminder....

A Bit More About The Course

The first cohort of students will all graduate with a FairShares Canvass that they have developed to plan/develop their own solidarity co-operative. On the course we discuss:

The nature of wealth
Values and principles
Key questions (for co-operative social entrepreneurs)
Participatory learning and management
Legal choices
ICT support systems

All these topics are brought together in the final weeks when student plan (or rethink) their approach to co-operative enterprise using a FairShares Canvass (yes, the 'ss' on the end of Canvass is not a mistake - look up the meaning of the word to see why...).

Graduates receive a Certified FairShares Practitioner qualification from FairShares Association Ltd and Social Enterprise International Ltd when they pass the final assessment.

The 10-week course involves 3-4 hours study each week. Each Wednesday, there is a 1-hour online discussion (typically at 7pm, UK Time). If needed, you can book one-to-one support sessions with me.

You can download the course content, terms and conditions and enrolment instructions.

Members of the FairShares Association receive a 20% refund on the course upon production of a membership certificate.

Best wishes
Rory

These are great course, which provides new knowledge and opportunities for many students. But unfortunately, I don't have time for this. Now I'm very busy with college assignments. And custom term paper writing service helps me with this. It's a priority task now and I want to prepare everything properly.

Hey @Rory (FSA) you referred in this 2020 announcement to a student from USA. I'm interested in finding out more about the person and his/her interests if possible.

Hey @Rory (FSA) thanks again for the intro as I just had a fascinating chat with @Jennifer Damashek and her good experience with the course has inspired me to want to think more about it too.

That's good news. Emailed you a copy of the letter template that went out to members about appointing a new board - hope you have it now.
