Dreams for a post-Covid world
I am sharing a series of post covid visions I have started working on to promote my Human Scale Development website, but which we could use as a general entry point into the work we do in our specific specialisms, as a resource for the alternative narrative Ben is seeking to develop or as a future vision for the Before & Now app.

I love this idea Inez. Can I get back to the discussion next week - I have a crazy few days coming up and am teaching on an online MA all weekend. Will be back in touch soon. Warm wishes, Louise

yeah I imagine you could collect ideas for initiatives perhaps through an app like this one or via a form ect. Then people can comment or suggest ways in which you could work towards that dream. So they almost become sub-threads of that initial vision. I imagine if you had a site that collected all these that people could scroll through the concepts and find a project they care about enough to get involved.

This is a really beautiful idea Inez...I have just been reading about twitter storms (I'm very new to this) and am having a lovely image of a weekly action directed at different members of parliament...this one could go to the transport minister for example, with a link to the steps. It would be nice to see dreams rather than anger on a twitter campaign...

Just to explain how it would work. Each image is an invitation to relate to the concept being shown and to share your own dream for the future. The blog post then sets out the vision in more details and how it might be achieved. For example:
title: Our children play out in the street again
1) Concrete vision statement eg. Affordable and efficient public transport has reduced the need for private vehicles and many residential areas have become traffic free zones. Our streets are safe for children to play in and our neighbourhoods have come back to life.
2) Current situation: According to research conducted by Play England, 71% of adults say they played out in the street every day when they were children. For today’s children that figure is only 21%. Children spend less time outdoors than people incarcerated in our prisons.
3) What you can do to make this dream a reality: a set of 5 (?) points, ranging from writing to your local council to supporting a nationwide initiative for safer streets
....
So for each vision there needs to be some research done into how these can be achieved so they are not just some fluffy dreams, but more of a manifesto with the invitation to make it happen through our joint efforts.
