3/15/18: Intentional Community as a solution to Climate Disruption

Carpe Diem: Another late, same day invitation for an event in the Boston real estate ecosystem

Lots of buzz about CoLiving & millions are flowing into startups. Want to look at the technology behind them? Most advocates talk about the social benefits but this presentation comes from a different angle -- Intentional Community as a solution to Climate Disruption -- and technologies that empower "radical resource sharing." How radical? "The per person taxable income for members of these communities is below the poverty line." Amazing!

That's more likely to appeal to Utopian seekers than real estate investors, but we can still use this gathering to meet others interested shared living, CoHousing, etc. I'm particularly interested in faith-based intentional communities (think modern version of The Shakers) -- what's your passion?

Glad to welcome Raines Cohen to this RE2020 working group and thank him for sharing info about the event above. Not sure whether he’s in town and attending tonight but recognize his nation leadership. Locally, he’s the lead person on the New England Cohousing MeetUp group and works as a Cohousing Coach, Certified Senior Advisor, and Certified Living in Place Professional.

Have been Raines’ guest at the cohousing community where he and his wife, Betsy live in Berkeley, CA. Their combined expertise and enthusiasm is an inspiration, so it’s my pleasure to welcome them to RE2020!

Following event at MIT last night, posted this thought experiment to the new Intentional Community Facebook group. Reposting on Digital Identity section of RE2020 to crowdsource responses at every step of housing ladder:
